Over 55 Communities - Active Adults, Assisted Living
As my husband and I are approaching our mid fifties we are both beginning to think that we would like to find some over 55 communities to look at to buy a second residence from. Our plan is to eventually live there when we do retire but use it as a second for now. Staying an active adult when we retire is a priority for us and we would like to find some over age 55 retirement communities that offer lots of activities. We both want to be on a golf course, with a fitness center, and tennis, too. We are also interested in senior retirement communities as a second home because for the next 10 years or so we will be able to make friends and establish relationships with the people who live there. By the time we are ready to move there full time it will feel like home for us. Some of the over 55 retirement homes that have sent me information seem to focus on group activities and helping residents to become friends. That is exactly what we are looking for ...we want active friends! I am going to do as much research and day trips as I can handle until we find exactly what we want in continuing care retirement communities. We will have a long list of items that we must have including the outdoor activities and fitness center but also the community must have a lot of planned activities for the residents. things like day trips or wine and cheese gatherings. I am a very social person and I like to keep busy so these will be "must haves" for me and my husband. There are a ton of over 55 retirement communities throughout the country. Because we live in Arizona that is where we want to stay. Our family is here and we want to be able to get to them easily. Our catholic church is here and I love my parish work and want to continue after we move. We also want this to act as our second home for a while so we need to get there quickly and easily. I have found some really nice over 55 retirement communities in Arizona. It is a very popular place for people to retire and that is going to make choosing a place that much easier. We are ready to move forward and check out some of the communities in our area. I see an active and happy future ahead for us.
